Gianni Barberi is a Senior Associate Partner and PLP Architecture’s BIM Coordinator. His role encompasses a wide range of projects in all sectors, and his is responsible for creating and maintaining PLP’s BIM Standards, coordinating the use of BIM and requisite staff training for all projects in the office, and managing BIM models and clash detection efforts.
He is also responsible for researching new best practices and adopting up to date software programs and methodologies. Gianni brings more than 10 years of experience using BIM technologies of various kinds, and more than 15 years of experience in architecture and interior design. He is experienced in Revit, AutoCAD, Vector Works, Navisworks, ArchiCAD, Rhino, and other leading software packages.
Amongst other projects, Gianni has been PLP’s BIM Coordinator on 22 Bishopsgate at the centre of the financial district’s cluster of tall buildings, from Stage 3 / Stage D; 2-6 Cannon Street, a new office building and enhanced public realm opposite St. Paul’s Cathedral;and the construction of a new headquarters for a major broadcasting company in West London.
Prior to joining PLP, Gianni worked at Gensler in London for six years as a Technical and CAD / BIM Coordinator. At Gensler, Gianni worked the on the ‘Chevrolets 64 degrees’ project, the first major project at Gensler London to use Revit. He went on to work on two of the practice’s largest projects in BIM, The Avenues in kuwait and The Heart of Doha, both a one million square foot mixed use development.
Prior to that, he worked at Pacific Interiors, Kajima Construction Europe, Louise Bradley and Tilney Shane, as a technical designer and as a CAD technician and detailer on site. Projects included the include Farrer and Co, Department for Education and Skills, The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, The Accordia Project in Cambridge, British Airways, IBM Warwick, and offices for Mace, Edelman, BBC, Bovis Lendlease, Industri Kapital, the John Lewis Partnership, Adult Learning Inspectorate, ICI and Unilever Bestfoods.
Gianni received his Bachelors in Interior Design from Middlesex University. He is Autodesk Revit Associate Certified.
